Diagnosis: hydrocephalus
- 2-years-old girl
- Presented with symptoms of raised intracranial pressure
- CT scan showed dilated ventricles. The ventricular catheter had been disconnected from the shunt system and had fallen inside the cavity of the right lateral ventricle
EQUIPMENT USED
- StorzDecq endoscope with 30o optic lens
- Grabbing forceps
SURGICAL TIPS
- Find the part of the catheter which is in the ventricular cavity
- Pull the catheter inwards to find the proximal end
- Grab the catheter from the proximal end and pull it out by removing the endoscope while grabbing the catheter.
