Diagnosis: Dandy Walker Malformation and hydrocephalus
- 8-month-old girl
- Macrocephaly
- Wide based gait and truncal ataxia (caudal vermian syndrome)
- CT scan: hydrocephalus, Dandy Walker Malformation
- Endoscopic third ventriculostomy
EQUIPMENT USED
- Aesculap Minop endoscope
- 30o optical lens
- Bipolar coagulation electrode
- 3F 1 mm Fogarty balloon catheter
SURGICAL TIPS
- Perforation of the floor of the third ventricle by coagulating with bipolar diathermy
- Stoma enlarged with balloon catheter
